I'm with Ernie - how far are you actually planning to shoot, and what size of targets? It all comes down to how large (or small) the target will appear in the FOV - can't shoot something if you can't see it.
I personally prefer the VX3 (now VX3i) 4.5-14x50mm, 30mm SF. It's my go-to hunting scope.
Looking at the specs, the VX3i 3.5-10x isn't available with any parallax correction, so that would be a no go for me. No sense in buying a fixed parallax (100yrd) optic to shoot 400+, it's just asking to be frustrated by misses. So that solidifies it even more for me - the 4.5-14x50 is available in 30mm tube and with Side Focus, and in 4.5-14x40mm with Adjustable Objective.
I wouldn't buy a fixed parallax scope for mid to long range shooting. Doesn't make sense.
