Coating durability

What's the toughest non bake finish out there. I was going to do the Cerakote but I am finding it hard to located a place to bake it. If I do it in my house will the smell go away eventually or is there another finish that is close in durability.

I've never used cerakote. My kggunkote does smell a bit but it airs out pretty fast. Duracote is pretty strong smelling. I wear a respirator and the shop smells like it for a good day and a half

Be had this rifle duracoted since 2009. I did it myself using some fine sand paper and break cleaner with a hvlp gun and a 5 gal compressor. The only place that has come off was around the bore at the muzzle

I have tried both on several rifles. I think that cerakote gives a more appealing finish, but I think that duracoat is tougher by far.

I am on my 3rd season with the inside of my ar15 receiver and bolt carrier coated in cerakote. Still going strong and is super smooth. Nice thing is that any build up just wipes off with a dry towel.
