I don't have a $2,500. scope either but I do have a real nice $20.00 scope that I won at the Predator Masters hunt a few years ago. Works good too!!!

The ticket that won it cost $20.00 but I might have bought a few more that didn't win too.

Kind of like all my friends seem to always win at the casino. At least all I ever hear about is when they win.

Is that anything like cherry picking one, three-shot group to show everyone and then claim it's a 1/8 MOA gun all day long?

Surely there is no one that would do that?

The casino winners, I ask... "Nice, how much to you clear/profit ? " Normal response is the "deer in the headlights look".

THIS!

I believe when it comes to just about anything. It's "all to each his own". What works for some, may not work for others.

Does anyone here use 18x or more for hunting at night?
If so, I am curious to know what kind of NV you are using.

Over scoped and under gun'd maybe. Grin....

I have done a lot of extended distance, hunting, varminting, and competing with Leupold (handgun and rifle), Sightron and Burris (handgun and rifle) scopes.

Talking about myself. And since I do have a couple of years under my belt, (over 42 yrs) no one is going to change my mind!! I have and use many types of scopes, from cheap vortex to Nightforce. I have no problems using my 6-6.5X18-20's at night. Which 80% of my predator hunting takes place! You use what you prefer, and I'll do the same!

I keep my NXS on 5.5 most always while out at night. For targets I can zoom in some to an extent, if I get over 12x its pretty blurry even with torch. I am still rather new to the night game, but few weeks ago we shot a night match, targets from 100 yds out to 500. I did alright, still a lot to learn. But after the shoot I was toying around with some of the guys and was hitting a coyote steel target at 562. That was way too much fun.

I have a SIMRAD

I wasn't talking about using variable power scopes.
I was asking if anyone here that uses NV (not other means) uses high magnification to hunt with (not dealing with shooting) at night?
