75 grain A MAX

Folks
just wondering if anyone shoots the Hornady 75 grain A Max in a .223. AR 15.

The ogive is pretty far back so I couldn't get them anywhere near 2.260 , mag length .
Hornady suggests 2.390 or close to that length. My barrel is a 20" Krieger VARMATCH with a 1-7.7 twist - I guess closer to 8 twist than 7 .
I'd appreciate any help from anyone who uses / used them . What's the pros / cons ?
Thank you in advance for your time and help

One of my buddies has been running them at the 2.26 length for many years. I loaded some for him when he was moving and didnt have his equipment up and running. It sure does not look right loaded that short, and there is alot of bullet stuffed into the case. But it ran in his AR fine. If you can get a mag that will hold a longer round, I would suggest that for sure.

Why not just run the 75BTHP or 70SMK? If there was a way to do it or a beneficial reason to do it, I am sure you would hear more about it.

What is your intended purpose for this load/rifle?

Thanks to all you folks that passed on some great info.
I appreciate the help and knowledge sharing.
