How we now know that Hillary Clinton will not be prosecuted for anything
posted at 8:01 am on March 18, 2016 by Jazz Shaw

John wrote yesterday about how Barack Obama has been working behind the scenes to move large dollar Democratic donors away from Bernie Sanders and towards Hillary Clinton. This, combined with various attacks from his bully pulpit on Donald Trump, have led to the correct conclusion that Obama will wind up being one of the most active presidents in modern history in terms of the election of his successor. This was a point made this week by Juliet Eilperin at the Washington Post. Traditionally, Presidents have bent over backward to at least lend the patina of non-involvement in such an election, allowing the voters to make their own choice, but not so in this case.

But we learned something else from this episode if you’re willing to look into the tea leaves closely enough. Michelle Jesse came to the same conclusion I did yesterday.

But the bigger point is, why would President Obama tell his party to unite around a candidate at serious risk of criminal indictment — when all signs from the FBI would indicate a very good chance, if not a certainty, that indictment will be recommended based on the investigation? Of course, he would only do such a thing if he knew — was determined — that, no matter what, the chosen candidate would not be charged.

Hillary Clinton herself has appeared to think she’s untouchable — even declaring with certainty that she will not be indicted. “Oh, for goodness, it’s not going to happen. I’m not even answering that question,” Clinton said recently in Miami.

There’s a reason that these two stories are so closely interwoven. If Barack Obama were taking the usual stance of presidents past he would simply express his support for whichever Democrat the voters chose in the primary and get on with his life, but this cycle has a number of wildcards mixed into the deck. You’d be hard pressed to find a parallel in the history of American politics where a major party presidential candidate was on the verge of winning the nomination while simultaneously facing the threat of indictment on serious criminal charges. (We won’t count Nixon in 72 because the break-in at the Watergate hotel didn’t happen until June of that year and there wasn’t a conviction until after Nixon was reelected and sworn in the following January.)

With the President being so clearly invested in electing a Democrat in general and Hillary Clinton in particular to continue his legacy, there’s simply no way he would risk putting his thumb on the scale for a candidate who might be essentially disqualified if she had to run the last stage of her campaign from a jail cell. With all that in mind, it’s difficult to conclude anything other than a presumption that Obama knows that Clinton will face no such peril. But how could he know that if the investigation isn’t even finished yet?

It’s a question which is answered rather easily, and it all comes down to Huma Abedin. It’s true that we’ve previously speculated that Huma might be the undoing of Clinton once all of her records are examined, but she also serves as an example of just how far the Obama administration is willing to go to block any damage to Clinton’s historic candidacy. When the Inspectors General turned over an embezzlement case against Abedin for prosecution, the Justice Department promptly dropped it in the circular file as an act of prosecutorial discretion and that was the end of it.

Is there any reason that they won’t do the same with Hillary Clinton herself? There are only two people who can know the answer to that question with certainty and they are Barack Obama himself and Attorney General Loretta Lynch. If the fix is in and Lynch has been told to flush any recommendation she receives from the FBI or other law enforcement officials, Clinton is in the clear and the campaign can continue without losing any sleep. But if there was even a chance that an indictment was coming, you’d see Barack Obama sidestepping away from Hillary as fast as his feet could carry him.

The game is rigged, folks. At this point even the FBI must be wondering why they’re even bothering with all this work.

Yeah...no way the party would stick with her without assurances that she is walking. I don't think she will be our next President. I had considered the likely scenario that Biden was being held in reserve...however, developments seem to indicate Crazy Joe will not be needed.

have any of ya'll considered that the reason he's quietly supporting her is to make sure bernie doesnt have enough delegates to be considered for the nomination so that they can bring in Joe Biden at the last minute when the charges do fall on hillary as the Savior of the party?

there's NO love between the obama's and the clintons - thats no mystery. thats likely why he's not coming out openly to endorse her. but he can work behind the scenes to knock out bernie without endorsing the hildabeast, and then right before the convention have the DOJ drop the bomb on her and judge Smokin Joe onto the Dem Ballot.

That's seems very plausible. How better to extend the Obama administration for 8 more years than a seamless transition into a creepy Joe Biden reign? I had considered it as a strong plan B...but, you may be correct. It could be plan A.

Honestly imo, I believe Hildabeast has some kind of devastating proof of criminal wrongdoing on the part of cabana boy. She says scratch my azz and I'll scratch yours. I mean, that's so klintonesque.

if the GOP wins the election this fall - the first thing they need to do is clean house of all the obama appointments. top to bottom.

and then go after the hildabeast

Is there any law that states a president can not fill a spot in the cabinet of the next administration? If not shotgun Joe is the Dem. candidate and wins puts O as VP or some other position. Or o will declare martial law on something stupid that he and his cronies start so he can stay where he is (civil war). Someone or some high power group is dividing the GOP that we are not seeing. The so called riots is being blown way out of proportion by the news people and who is behind this, the GOP establishment, is Trump doing this to bring more attention to himself, is the Dems. and O doing this. Who knows, its turning into a circus. We all knew Clinton would walk but kept that little hope she would get prosecuted, this story seems to tell the tail. Well folks lets wait and see if there is another twist in the saga of the 2016 run for the candidates same time and station. I sure hate making light of all this BS going on but are we so far flushed down the pot there is no return?

Moveon.Org raising funds from Trump protests, warns more disruptions to come

By Kelly Riddell - The Washington Times - Sunday, March 13, 2016

Moveon.Org is conducting fundraising activities from the Chicago protests against Donald Trump that prompted the Republican presidential front-runner to cancel a rally there Friday, and promises that more disruptions are on the way.

“Last night, without consulting local police, Donald Trump abruptly cancelled a rally in Chicago in the face of massive and overwhelmingly peaceful student-led protests,” MoveOn.org wrote in an email Saturday to members. “We’re being flooded with aggressive emails and social media posts from Trump supporters. Some of them are threatening. We refuse to be intimidated by Donald Trump, Fox News, or anyone else.”

The email asked members to donate $3 to help the effort. The progressive group is funded by billionaire George Soros, and has endorsed Democratic candidate Vermont Sen. Bernard Sanders for president.

“We need to double down on our work, showing that America is better than Trump’s bullying, hate-baiting, and incitements to violence,” the email read. “We are committed to nonviolence, but we will not be silent. We will not be invisible.”

The group detailed its efforts in recent months, highlighting ads it has run against the real estate mogul and the advocacy its done on behalf of refugees, who it said are “under attack” from the GOP, and the support it gave to Trump protesters in Chicago.

“We’ve been ramping up our efforts for months — from the ‘We Are Better Than This’ ad we helped organize in The New York Times in December, to our collective advocacy for refugees under attack from the GOP, to the support we provided students in Chicago last night by printing signs and a banner and recruiting MoveOn.org members to join their peaceful protest. We need to double-down in the face of direct attacks on our community,” the email read.

And it pledged to continue its work.

“So here’s the plan: We’ll support MoveOn.org members to call out and nonviolently protest Trump’s racist, bigoted, misogynistic, xenophobic, and violent behavior — and show the world that America rejects Trump’s hate,” the email read. “And to keep it going, we’re counting on you to donate whatever you can to cover the costs of everything involved — the organizers, signs, online recruitment ads, training, and more.”

anyone who believes the general election polls right now is crazy. its SO easy to skew a poll to get the result you want out of any sample group just by playing wordsmith a bit.

thats assuming of course that your polled group is statistically demographically accurate in its makeup - look how bad the polls pooched the bernie sanders / clinton thing here in michigan because their demographics were WAY off by not polling the 18-45 group properly.

polls tend to get more accurate as you get close to elections because those folks running the polls have to be able to save face. they can be off by a little bit and still come out ok, but if something like the sanders/clinton thing were to happen close to the general election - the outfits who took said polls would look like the fools that they are. this far out from a general election i take those poll results with a giant grain of salt.
