mountain lion mutation

Looks like some sort of twin malformation. Obviously did not affect its ability to hunt/eat. Similar things are seen in other animals as well as humans. Extra arms or legs being most prevalent from a "parasitic twin".

Very strange, but Im wondering why he wont let the DF&G have it to determine the cause and return it when they are done so he can have it mounted.

I wondered that as well. And, I also wondered what it would be like to only have one chance at a mountain lion your entire life and for that to be the one you bagged? Think I'd prefer a normal one by the fireplace but not sure.
