tanning hides

I've been wanting to get in to tanning deer hides squirrels and some yote's and maybe a coon. Was wondering if any one new of any good starter kits I could get and good books to read. I've looked at the f & sight and they have a beginner kit for like 60 bucks with crystal s tools oils in all of that. Thought I'd ask you guys in go from there . Thanks for the help.

I've never done it but every animal has enough brains to tan it's own hide.

My favorite tan is EZ Tan. You'll have to buy some supplies. Follow these directions and it'll be pretty straight forward. This gal has it about as simplified as you can get and still produce a very durable tan.
