The Axis are free-ranging in Stonewall, Texas and I shot this 205lb Axis buck on my buddy's farm. Herd of 200 plus eating on his wheat so we took a total of eight which I shot four of and this big boy jump up and only 75 yds away.

Cold front passed through Thursday and dropped the temps in the low 60's.

I used the 6.8 loaded with the 120 SST's:

Very nice... Velvet

Sounds like GREAT fun. Are you able to hunt them year round?

Yes, at any time by any means since they are not native.

Will go agian before WT seasons before they get scattered all over creation.

I killed one a year ago in Menard county and my family loved the meat. Time to get another I guess. Good axis that's going to be delicious.
