Just finished up this thing. Blem PSA lower, Blem PSA upper. Blem BCG. 40$ handguard. Green Mountain 22" stainless H bar. Polished factory trigger with set screw mod.

Shoots pretty good for a cheap beater build. 55gr varmint nightmare HP, 25gr XBR 8208, 3050fps.

300yd. I quartered and held on the top section, hit about half inch to the left.

Dialed up 350yds put two more on too of the 300yd shot.

Sent two more at 400yds at the top group, they hit to the far left, i didnt hold for the wind.

Millet TRS-1 4-16x30mm. Decent glass for around 300$. A little heavy but i like all the features and it tracks true.

Looked at GM's site and only saw a 20" barrel. I had a GM barrel on a 10/22 ruger that was outstanding. How do you like it on your AR?

They are know for making really good 10/22 barrels. A lot of target shooters use them. Look on the second page on the AR barrels its at the top. I love The barrel so far. I heard that GM supplies barrels to Colt but dont know how true it is.

This is a 100yd 10shot group. With a 55gr v max. Its a load i worked up for another AR. 9 shots into .70" and the tenth one opened the group up to .90".

Your beater is look'n good.
Also picked a GM barrel cause of good 10/22 reputation.
My 20" GM 1:8 SS likes 62,69,75 gr pills.
Latest favorite is 69 gr Sierra TMK pushed by 8208 XBR.

It shoots well, it was a good value IMO.

This is on the thread "Tipped SMK":

......(TMK 69) results from my 20" 1:8 GM 223 barrel, with 8208 XBR, CCI BR-4 primers, COL = 2.255", cheap brass:
23.6 gr => 2805 fps ave
23.8 gr => 2827 fps ave
24.0 gr => 2890 fps ave (my choice of speed & accuracy for yotes in this AR)
24.2 gr => 2960 fps ave (WSR primer and 2.250 C0L, 5 shots, only 3 recorded fps)

I'll try a link to that, scroll up a couple slots:
