marks on neck after resizing .223

I polished the necks before resizing,after resizing I can see vertical marks on the necks,dumb question but it won't affect accuracy will it?they just look bad.

Just cosmetic.......

Take a wore out brass brush, wrap it with 0000 steel wool, put a little Flitz on it, chuck it up in a drill, and lightly polish up the neck area in the die. I do this to dies and bushing all the time to eliminate those marks.
 

Did you use steel wool to polish the necks before resizing?

I did that once and had vertical marks on the necks. I don't
really know what size of steel wool I used. I think some wool
embeded in the brass.

I didn't loose any accuracy.
 
burnt carbon left on necks, then inserted into the neck sizing die will scratch the die. I use 0000 steel wool on my necks and my dies have never been scratched.

On the other hand, tumbling media that gets real fine will scratch dies at times, especially the type that has red jeweler's rouge on it.
