I have a call that is internal reed...when I try to blow it it locks up. It will make noise but only if you give it a very limited amount of air. If I try to blow it with the normal amount of air used to make the sound it will lock up. What is wrong and more importantly what needs to be done to fix it???? Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for any info.

Sounds like you got some pocket fuzz or other junk in the red, maybe. Try blowing super hard into the exhaust end to blow it out.

Or maybe the reed is blown apart. Have you really hammered it extra hard recently?

If you have used the call a lot it may have a build up in it and could just need cleaning use a 50/50 mix of white vinger and water pour it in the call with one end pluged off let it set in there for 5 mins then rinse the call out and hang it up to dry and try it again rare earth told me about this trick it works great I was changing reeds every year now I don't I just clean them hope this will fix your call
