Finally I have found the above bullet and 500 are on their way. Now I would like some suggestions on powder choice. Thanks

I would try the new IMR 4451 if you want speed.
This is off the Hodgdon website.

COL 3.10"

Starting load 53.8, 3,464, 48,100 PSI

Maximum load 58.5, 3,781, 60,300 PSI

That's a very light bullet and calls for faster powders. When I shot that bullet years ago I used IMR4064, 760 would be a good choice as well as Varget. Anything slower and results were erratic for me.

I tried the 75 gr bullet for 2 years. Velocity was unreal and it was accurate. The downside is it ran out of steam about 300 yards out. I moved on to the 85 gr bullet and never looked back.

Maybe you'll like the results. If you don't try the new 90 gr Sierra.

I met a coyote that would disagree about how much steam was left at just inside a quarter of a mile. The wound channels can be from really bad to not much. Working with the 257 Weatherby now and I am going to move up to the 90 grain area if they will shoot, for yotes. In the mean time I have a bunch of 75s to burn up in the 25-06.

75 gr running 4000 has more steam than a 50 gr running 4000 within reasonable hunting distances. Theres tons of coyotes killed way out there with 22-250s and 50 vmax.

Yes and they shoot good. Still getting the barrel seasoned (if there is such a thing) and working up some loads.

I have a 25-06 with a 26 inch barrel and did not feel the extra powder vs velocity gain was what I wanted to achive with the lighter bullets and have focused on 115 grains. I have some 90 HP Gamekings and Barnes 100 TSX I am going to try next with hopes of being in the 3500 FPS range with the Roy.

The rifle I coyote hunt with the most has a 24" barrel and likes the 75s with Varget. The 26 incher 25-06 I use the max load of H4350.

You should be able to surpass 3500 with the tsx's. I was wondering how the velocity was with the 75s. Sounds like its past the point of gains. It'd still be fun to try.

I have 4350 and 4831 so I guess I'll get some 4064 and some of the new stuff if I can find it. Probably get some Varget also. Thanks guys

I run the 75 grain hornady V max, 75 grain hornady hollow points, and the spear 100 grain hollow points. All loads are with IMR 4350. 55 grains of powder on the 75 grain bullets and 50 grains on the 100gr bullets. Point of impact shift between the three loads are about 1 inch so i can shoot any of the three with out worring about re-zeroing, and I love them all.

Hi bowls eye my gun loves the 90 gr if you don't like them pm me I will buy them from u. I use 117 gr SST on deer I am sold. I use imr 4831 with 90 gr and RL22 with the 117 gr SST. I have 2 25/06 my other one I load nosler 85 gr BT and RL19.

Varget. Second best we got when I was reloading for my buddy's was IMR4350. Varget pushed it faster and a LITTLE bit tighter.

Try some 85 gr Nosler B.T. s with H4831SC. They are very accurate and the red mist is impressive. I shot the 75 gr VMax and it shot pretty good .I like the heavier bullet for the wind. Didn't mess with the 75 VMax as much as I should have but the 85 BT shot so well I didn't see a need to. Used H4831SC for the 75 and I also use it for the 115 gr N.B.T. Good luck with the shoulder and loads.

My experience follows yotekiller47, but I like the heavier bullets due to better results in the wind.
