Big Safety

Does anyone know of a extended or larger safety for an AR? I've got arthritis in my thumb & have trouble "thumbing off" the issue safety. Thanks for any input.

I don't know of any large safeties, but they make ones with reduced rotation. Instead of 90° operation they're something around 45°. Not sure if that would be any easier though.

I have very short fingers and found it difficult to control the release of normal safety quietly. Someone suggested the Rock River safety was longer so I ordered a couple of their AR0104D's.

They are not much if any longer but the raised "head" on end make them easier to get a purchase on. Not sure if that would help you or not but might be worth a try.

Regards,

And the 45° throw would be even better.

Here's what the one in my link above looks like:
(DPMS Oversized Safety Selector, DPMS #: LR-08D )

It is easy to flip into FIRE, and seems louder than the mil-spec.
