I got lucky this afternoon. A former principal asked me to come out and work on his groundhog problem. I was there for about an hour and a half and shot six. Pretty good number for one field and that amount of time, but the real story is the pair of fox. The second groundhog that I shot was a weaned pup that was along a fence line near a fox den. About 10 minutes after I shot there was another pup that came up. I had the scope on that one when I noticed something red and didn’t shoot. It was a fox – followed by a second one. They started to play and then one’s nose went up and it went right over to the groundhog, grabbed it up, and headed back to the den. Needless to say, there has not been much shooting around there for some time.
