IMR-4451

Has anyone got a chance to load this powder? It's still relatively new and there isn't much data on it. I ended up with a whole bunch of it and am hoping it'll do well in 6x47L and 7mmSAUM. It looks like it's pretty close to 4350 which does well in these cases so I figured it was worth the gamble.

How's it working for you?

I tried IMR4451 today in my .270 Winchester with 24" barrel and will share my results. Using Federal cases, GM210M primers, and Nosler 130 Accubonds seated to 2.380". 10 shots for each weight of powder.
54.5 = 3076fps, ES 45, SD 21
55 = 3120fps, ES 42, SD 17
55.5 = 3136fps, ES 40, SD 17
56 = 3143fps, ES 12, SD 5
56.3 = 3158fps, ES 25, SD 11

The rifle exhibited an accuracy node at 54.5 & 56 grains of powder. Primers were showing some good flattening at 55.5 with no cratering, and easy bolt lift. No visible difference between the 55.5 & 56.3 grain load with primer flattening all with easy bolt lift. The rifle had about half the copper fouling that it would get using H4350 and 1 hour with Patch Out in the bore took care of it. Outside temp was 55 degrees and density altitude of 6,000'.
