nikon p-223 zero reset ?

pulled my gun outta the truck to do some calling and noticed the L/R adj was off zero (I hadn't intentionally touched it)
My first thought and action was to move the zero back. I know I'm gonna have to go back to the range now but I'm wondering if anybody else has had something similar and what I really wonder is if its more likely the zero reset had gotten moved or the scope itself was actually turned?

My guess is the turret's just got turned while going in or coming out of the case. You should be able to turn them back to zero or 100 (yards) depending on the scope. There should be no change in impact from your original zero once the scope is reset.
Nikon has increased the tension in the turret's to keep that from happening. The nice thing is that they are easily returned to your zero setting.
I'm not sure what you mean by the scope was actually turned?
It's been my experience that Nikon scope's do very well with box test's involving multiple vertical/horizontal changes returning to zero and same point of impact.
Let me know if you are having a problem.
