cfe 223 6x45 load data

Hodgdon for. 75 grain IN A 223 You can use this and move up slightly as there is no comercial data on the CFE that I have seen published for the 6X45. The expansion ratio usualy lets you shoot the next heavier bullet in the 6X45 over the 223 loadings.

CFE 223 .224" 2.250" 23.0 2,680 45,200 PSI 25.0 2,876 54,400 PSI

This is their 80 grain 223:

CFE 223 .224" 2.550" 23.0 2,638 46,700 PSI 24.4 2,785 53,600 PSI

I have loaded up to 29.7gr of CFE223 in the 6X45mm with 70gr from a Bolt gun but that was a hot load.
For the 75gr I would interpolate from there or simply use BLC-2 data reduce 5% and work up.

You might want to check out the Hodgdon reloading data site here ..... Hodgdon reloading and they have 6X45 (6mm-223) data available.

CFE223 is nearly identical in burn rate to BL-C(2) and they have that as an option for load data on that site.

Just remember to start low and work your way up slowly and safely.

In low pressure loads, it is. If you load it up where it's should be...quite clean.

thanks for all replies working up loads for a 18 inch barreled ar that I built worked up loads to 25 Grs. cfe223 with no signs of high pressure was hoping for some idea of max load others had reached

After trying CFE 223 in my load work up for my 6x45, I couldn't ever get it to group very well, so switched to XBR 8208. Hopefully you have better luck than I did.
