Looking for ir laser advice...

I did a search and came up with some basi info, but nothing too specific. I'm looking or an it laser (diy would be fine) to use with my pvs 7's. I don't shoot any crazy long distances, maybe 200 yards max. Any suggestions? Anything to stay away from?

I would suggest lasermax. It's a lower cost and effective laser. I have the IR model and like it. I tried a couple of cheap Chinese lasers off ebay and they were junk. So, from my experience, I would say don't go there. I've heard that some folks have had different luck than mine, but I haven't seen any good ones personally.

That thing will lase further than you want to shoot. I figure the dot to be about 3moa. That's just my best guess. About 3 inch diameter at 100 yds. I feel comfortable out to 200 with it. Most of my shots at night are inside that.

I really appreciate the reference. Sounds like a fun project. The 5moa dot doesn't sound too great, but it might make a good illuminator.
