Best Thermal Clip-on?

If money was no object, what is the best available thermal clip on unit available to the public? At least .308 recoil capable, internal reticle available for stand alone.

Insight CNVD, I've dropped a lot of hogs and yotes over the yrs with this sometimes I feel like I'm cheating

IF money was no object as the OP stated, this would be my choice. http://tnvc.com/shop/l3-cnvd-t3/

Hi Mr. Victor!

Price tag???

I checked out your amazing website, couldn't find a price tag! I guess if you have too ask you can't afford:)

Thank you Sir!

IMHO, have you thought about thermal scope versus a clip on? With a starlight type night scope, sighting in can be a pia due to problems with daylight. However, a thermal can be sighted day or night. Why just a clip on? You can hunt day or night with it;) Ddedicated scope is usually cheaper. For instance, Willis optics has a pas-13b medium for $4000 obo. The scope is liquid cooled, 640 scanner, +1000 meters id on man, and rated for more gun than most people own;)

I think clip ons are very cool, but they arent always the best solution. The whole idea of a clip on is a two edged sword. It solves one problem, needing more than one scope/rifle. However, it causes other issues. For light amplification type scopes, they add another layer of glass to reduce image quality and they all add weight to a rifle! The pvs 27 is over 3#'s! Add that to a 2# scope and mount equals one heavy rifle;) With the thermal type clip, you still have the issue of weight. A recoil rated scope is still at least a 1.5#+ and the weight of the scope and mount. However, the thermal is a day night optic, unlike the light amplifying scope. If your dedicated to thermal only hunting, why use a clip on? Only one rifle maybe a good reason, but I doubt that applies;) Also, with thermal, everyone writes off the older technology. The cooled scanner is a superior optical performer to the uncooled. The medium pas-13b out performs the Flir t-75; it has 2 optical magnifications 1.66x and 5x and can id a man at 1400 meters. At 1.66x its fov is 18 degree. Preaty awesome! The heavy weight has twice the ability of it;) However, they are heavier and used special batteries. I guess life is a trade off;)

Good post. Indeed, it's always a trade off and wish there was one device that was perfect. With that said a dedicated system like the new IR Defense MKII's with the 12um cores are pretty stunning.

Goodmorning everyone. I resume this old topic hoping that some news has arrived. I wanted to ask you if there are thermal clips on with a 640x480 or 640x512 high definition sensor that do not cost a fortune. In Italy these are found on the internet:

LAHOUX CLIP ON (384x288) 3780 €

https://www.bignami.it/it/caccia/prodotti-it/?cat0=202&cat1=186&cat2=&idProdotto=393635

PULSAR CORE FXQ55 (384x288) 3549 €

PREDATHERM CLIP 640 HD (640x480) 9750 € ( !!! )

The Bering Optics Hogster C released recently. It is a 384 x 288 clip on but is almost $1,000 (US) cheaper than the Pulsar FXQ. I am not sure if this thermal is available outside of the US or not. However, it isn't 640 x 480.

FLIR T70 gets my vote.
