A nice little combo

With all the recent rains here in southern NM, the previously dry and once might Rio Grande was actually flowing a little this weekend.

Local bird hunter extraordinaire, and PM member Quackaddict, and I put on the waders, threw out a few decoys, and bushed up with his trusty pooch to see if we could coax a few teal into range.

Although we weren't in a major flyway, we did pick off these four birds.

By this time it was getting pretty steamy, so we ditched the waders, put out a couple Mojo doves, and warmed up our shotgun barrels shooting a limit each of mourning doves.

Seemed like a pretty good way to spend a Saturday morning to us.

Nice!!!! Thanks for posting.

Looks like a fun day. Always have admired the versatility of those spaniels. Broil those teal breast to medium rare and they are better than a lot of steaks.
