Juvenile predators SE NY.

I've never seen such an abundant quantity of prey species as I've seen this summer. And true to form: I've never seen so many so many juvenile predators (yotes, foxes) as I've seen the last 3 weeks. This bodes extremely well for the NY hunting season.
Its the first time in 6 years I've seen multiple fox dens in my area...
I've also counted 8 dead juvenile coyotes in a 5 mile radius as well as 9 juveline foxes...

I've talked to a number of folks and we are all in agreement that the cottontail rabbit population has to be at or near the top of it's 10-year cycle. I also saw an awful lot of meadow voles on my property this summer while mowing. Might have to think about letting the little ones go this season to leave some for seed.

saw gray foxes near some of my crow hunting stomps, which I had never seen before...
