Here is a recent scientific study published in November 2013.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of state-level assault weapons bans and concealed weapons laws on state-level murder rates. The results indicated that states with more restrictive CCW laws had gun-related murder rates that were 10% higher. Murder rates were 19.3% higher when the Federal assault weapons ban was in effect.

Not surprising:

(1) results of study
(2) mainstream media never paid any attention to it
(3) average voter wouldn't believe it

Surprising:

(1) legislators with a soul who are in a position to push for less restrictive CCW laws don't do so. Apparently they are ok with their voters being sheep to be preyed upon by criminals. This is particularly the case when these legislators are either armed or have hired armed security.
(2) average voter is so lazy as to not take action because of (1) [notably not talking about the resident voters of Colorado who did take action]

Politicians will never do anything if the MSM stays liberal. That is what keeps low information voters on their side. A way to finacially harm the MSM for remaining biased needs to be found or it is a matter of time before we lose.
