MB 550 Adjust Help

Needing a little guidance...

When I set one of my MB550 traps, the pan does not sit level when the pan snaps into the latch on the dog. It actually sits at a lower angle (not flat) and noticeably lower than the trap jaws. The result is that there is now a lot of play in the trap pan, making it to where it takes a lot of pressure for the trap to fire off.

I am thinking it's one of the traps I caught a yote on and the yote got it out of whack somehow. However, I am comparing the "broken" trap with my other traps and I don't see any obvious trap parts that are broken or bent. Not sure just what to do.

Bend the arm that holds the dog on it back slightly. This will raise the pan.Vise grips work great for this.

Bend that arm forward to lower the pan.Make sure the eye on the dog is not too open either. If it is you can squeeze it a little but just make sure it still moves freely and doesn't bind up or down.Hope this helps.
