World class prairie dog hunting in our own back yard!
We hit the field Saturday hoping to call coyotes but after one set the wind came up and stopped us. 'Cinch we where in the area we stopped by "The dog colony" and did some blasting. My buddy and I each shot about 75 shells and maybe hit at a 20%. In our defense... The wind was 15 mph sideways and the dogs only allowed shot at 200 yards and beyond.
Still great fun.
I do not know how many prairie dog inhabit the town but conservatively I'm sure it's in the 100,000's. In what we thought may be the middle ,when we look through the 12X binos there are still dogs on the horizon in any direction...
Disclaimer:
This one is in a 300 foot deep ancient river basin , a very tuff climb back out, hence the reason a million dogs and NO other hunters...No other indications on it's location.
