Varmint hunting videos on YOUTUBE

chuck hunter

New member
Over the years, I've made many hunting and scope cam videos.
I'm putting the links below ("in Varmint Hunting") for the new members who've never seen my older posts.
My videos have gotten so popular that the anti gun and anti hunters are now targeting me for removal from Youtube.
Youtube is going along with the anti hunters and they (YT) keep sending me letters telling me to tone it down or my channel will be deleted.
Youtube has deleted some of my videos and blocked others, so now I load my hunting videos to Vimeo.
I made a video / post on Youtube about the "War On The Gun Industry" after reading this article.
If you like shooting, you need to watch this video about the intent and feelings of the NEW owners of Youtube.
Here is a link to THAT video.

There was a effort put forth by a tree hugger group here in Colorado to ban pd shooting. (The thread is above in this forum) They used videos similar to yours as evidence of cruelty to garner support, raise funds and petition the Colorado DOW to outlaw the shooting. Fortunately the petition didn't make it too far but the video gave it traction and certainly helped them raise money for the fight. Fast forward some years later in Colorado, the political climate has changed so much that this group could probably push a ballot initiative thru using clips of your videos for proof of cruelty on TV commercials. I need only to reference what happened to the spring bear hunt here to lend validity to how effective it would be.

You can do as you wish but after the fiasco here its of my opinion (and many others who attended the meeting) that these videos, while fun to make and watch give nothing but ammunition to the anti's for their efforts to ban varmint shooting. (Eventually all hunting) The antis cheerfully support your fight to keep them up on the Internet. Those videos make make them lots of money to continue their fight.

Now, that being said I've put on the nomax suit and stand at the ready for all you free speech, its a free country, its none of their business guys that want to put me on a spit and roast me over a slow fire! LOL

Not everything we do needs to be put on video, sold on a shelf or put on YouTube.

I agree 210% with Fuzzy.

Chuckhunter, I have watched all of your videos, and they are the crudest and the worst example of "hunting" videos...

... your videos are endless, "Watch me kill stuff, one after the other, after the other, after the other, after the other.... yippie, killed that one, killed that one too, and killed another too" , with none of the sporting aspects of people and comraderie.

There are thousands of hunting videos on YouTube, and as a video editor, I know a lot of these guys - they are NOT having the problems of warnings that you are having.

Your stuff is so badd that if I didn't know better, I would think it was made by the anti's to be used as fund raisers.

You are the best friend that P.E.T.A. and the anti-hunting groups have.

You should get a 10% commission on their donations.

These other guys are right. Why put video after video on youtube? Blowing up chucks and other varmints isn't illegal. I love doing it. But this stuff really offends a lot of people. Posting videos on Youtube just rubs it in their face. So what? you say. Well.....they're the ones who apply pressure to stop hunting and shooting, killing of animals. And it's not getting any less, these antis won't be going away. They'll keep trying to make it as tough as possible for any kind of hunting. And the people in charge of making laws will find more and more ways of stabbing hunters and gun owners in the back. Enjoy what we do but don't be flaunting it in a non-hunting environment.

The videos themselves are pretty unimpressive. But if you're gonna post them, put 'em someplace where the audience is other shooters who'll appreciate what the whole thing is about.

As you can see, I'm doing that very thing.
They are being moved.
Many people on predator masters enjoy shooting and hunting and sharing their interest with others.
That is what I've tried to do.
Life in this country IS changing. It's sad that we need to hide what we like.

It's not going to be any better on Vimeo Put them on a site like photoBucket and keep them private.

You will probably get more complaints on Vimeo, cuz they are a high class site, whereas YouTube is very low class.

Yes I understand.
I can make them privet on Vimeo.
I have hundreds of subscribers who want to see my videos, so I need to do this in a way that THEY can find the videos they want to see.
I'm removing the videos from public view and I will alert my subscribers where they can find the privet, non public, video they want to see.
It's just to bad the world has come to this.

That's good. There's no need to be flaunting what we do. Keep it among people who enjoy this stuff.

What do they expect?

You just don't get it do you?

I enjoy watching these videos because I enjoy it. I understand some people don't like watching this kind of stuff. One could say "just don't watch it then", but that won't happen as long as there is a debate. The people that don't want us to enjoy our sport, or for it to even exist, just use stuff like this in their favor. I seen a video of a guy/kid/whatever posted of a coyote he shot in the head with a .270 and it said "isnt this funny" and the end said "hope you can find the humor", I don't agree with stuff like that. I think people who post videos should use some sort of censorship in what they post to certain sites, especially YouTube where it's full of people who are against us and don't hunt. I'm pretty sure in the forum rules here it says "use censorship" and I think a person could use that for posting anywhere or anything related to our sport. With that said, I agree with what you do because I, myself do it, but don't agree with posting some of the nastier kill shots and kills. If you record it and have it on film, great. But keep it to your private viewing and those in your "circle".
