i got some money as a gift for traps and am having troubles deciding what to buy. I'm debating between half a dozen duke 1.5 or half dozen bridger 150bodygripper. I thought about going just a bit over budget and getting half dozen bridger 1.65 as I already have three of them. I am leaning towards the coilsprings as they might be the most versatile for my first year trapping but I guess conibears can be land or water as well. any input or opinions?

Biggest question is what species do you plan to target? Water or land trapping?
That might help you choose what to buy.

I plan on targeting muskrat mink fisher and fox. Eventually I will have plenty of both styles of traps but just starting out I am starting small and will reinvest all fur money into traps

You could split the difference and go 3 foothold and 3 coni's. That would give you 6 1.65s and 3 150s to start out. Fh's for fox and the coni's for rats and the like.
