Ran a new load I worked up for a pals savage predator rifle in my gun today to see if it shot as good and FPS wise.
Pals 243, 24" heavy fluted stock barrel, 49g H380, 55g CT, cci 250, 2.650" col, 3924fps & .600" @ 100 yds.
My 22" stock pencil barrel, same load, 3865 fps & .450" @ 100yds.
I took about 1 min between my shots.
These were all ran over a chrony.
I was darned surprised how well they shot in my light sporter rig.

He was using Winchesters factory ammo at 3910 fps, 55g nosler CT and since I reload I worked up a load as close to his likings.
Seems its perfect in both our rigs, although I use my 6x45 or 6x6.8 for coyote.

thats awesome. Iv been wanting to work aload up for my my 243 sport barrel. been wanting to play with the light wait rounds. just cant bring my self to it bc of always wanting a middle wait for deer also. do you mind me asking what your load is for your 6x6.8? im currently running 70nbt with 28.5Grs of 4895. and not realy happy with it. they work im under MOA. but think it should shoot better.

Ive never used it in the .243 as W760 was my go to 243 powder for the lighter weights, ran out and have H380, gave it a shot and now sticking with it for the light bullets. H380 runs 150 fps faster using the same charge and its still about 4-5g under max.

I just run the 55g NBT in my 6x6.8 for coyote w/31.5g x8208 at 3356fps and runs moa or a bit under.
The 70g loads I ran are with 29g x8208, 3057 fps. 27g aa2015, 3039 fps, both shot at .550"
BLC2, w748, h335 powders work good also.

Thanks for sharing. I have good luck with .224 55 nbt in my 223 and 22-250 as well. They seem to shoot better than the 55 vmax in my rigs.

It sounds like your buddy has the savage predator 10 max, in 243. I have the same rifle and have been disappointed so far in trying to find accurate loads for it. Do you know if you're friends rifle has been picky? Is it generally pretty good shooting?

Yes its the Predator max, so far its not been picky on what he feeds it. Its been a consistent under 1" shooter.

H414 and win 760 with Fed 210's will get the 55's over 4000 into tiny groups in most rifles. The most accurate load will be close to what is a max load for that rifle(my rifle can't read loading manuals).

Preliminary testing shows a preference for 55gr NBT with 42.0gr and 43.0gr IMR 8208XBR, CCI 250, coal 2.650", should be around 3850 fps.

DirtyDog, are you a little slow with the 8208 vs. other powders under a 55 gr pill? I'm shooting a 69 gr Berger and running a little slow with 8208.
