Sons first turkey (eastern NC)

Words can't describe how proud I am of my son, DW. This morning he shot his first turkey ever. He came by the blind in such a way that DW couldn't swing his shotgun around and the tom was slowly walking away but steadily towards e front of the blind. I told him "it's now or never". I paced it off at 61 yards!! Unreal for a 20 gauge! (Or 12 for that matter). I couldn't believe it. We knew where this tom was roosting so we set up this morning and heard him gobble for an hour before he finally stepped out in front of the blind. 18.4 lbs, 9.5" beard and 1 1/4 spurs. He was shooting a Rem 870 Youth with Hevi-shot magnum blend. I'm one proud Dad.
