Spring bear and very small cubs...Video

Spring bear in coastal Oregon...I was wondering why this mom had such young ones out..After they crossed the road I spotted another bear where they had come from..Pretty sure she was getting them away from a boar..

I set up the camera,ranged the bear,dialed up 2 moa,settled the crosshairs on his shoulder,then studied to see if he was what I wanted.

He turned and dissappeared while I was still deciding...LOL

No matter,lots of time and lots of bears..

 
Good video. Better to not shoot, when in doubt, any time. Nice looking bear country-I'm sure you'll get another chance.
 
I went back up yesterday to see if I could find that boar again...I didn't find him,but we did find a bear even cooler...

Phase bears like this one are fairly rare on the Oregon coast...Quite a few on the eastside of the state,but not many on the coast...

If only he was a little bigger...LOL
