DPMS Oracle 308?

So I have a DPMS Oracle 308 purchased and being
shipped soon. I have a couple of quick upgrades I
want to do, and was wondering if anyone here knows
a couple of details about the rifle, as it ships from
DPMS. First, I think it has a commercial buffer tube,
but I am not certain. Can anyone confirm this. The
first upgrade is the stock. I will be putting a Magpul
ACS or CTR stock on it, and need to know what type
of tube(commercial or mil-spec) is on the rifle.

Also, I am replacing the delta ring/clam shell fore end
with some kind of free float tube. Is the fore end
a carbine length(it looks like one in the pictures)?
And this is a general question. AR-15 fore ends(free
float tubes) fit on the DPMS 308 upper receiver, correct?

I am pretty fired up to get the new 308 dirty. I have
4 AR-15s, but this is my first 308 version of an AR.
I will probably hurt my face grinning.

Standard ar15 handguards will not fit on the the larger frame and yes it is a carbine length gas system. Welcome to the world of Large frame ar's. I enjoy them more than the little brother!

It's a commercial tube... yes.

Swapping out the handguard.... you need to use one made for an AR10. AR15 sizes are too small in my experience. The barrel nut wrench needs to be larger in the cutout to accommodate the fatter barrel. I modified mine with a file and elbow grease.

I want a rail for an IR light.
If you want a tube you should call DPMS.
You may have to change the gas block.
I they used a tube on my DPMS LR-243 upper. Now I really grin.

I don't want a two piece rail fore arm, like the Midwest
part. I want a free float tube, with some rails. It looks
like Troy Ind. makes a nice configurable tube with rails.
And if one wants a railed tube, DPMS sells one, too. I don't
think I have to change the gas block, but I may swap it out
with an adjustable one anyway.

I want to thank everyone for the info, you all saved me from
ordering a AR-15 float tube, and finding out it didn't fit
on the LR-308 upper receiver. I would have used it on one
of my AR-15s that have just a plain jane float tube, but I
don't NEED to do that at the moment. Now I need to get the
rifle!

and is lite weight. They have 2 new models coming out for the ar10 platform .Check out rick@advancedsuppressionsolutions.com They have a octagon model as well as a round tube in various lengths I am putting on a 9in cant speak to the longer models as for how ridged they are .The one on my ar15 is rock solid.
