yup, I had a Big Bore 94 XTR for a while, sold it to a buddy of mine who collects winchesters, so I know it went to a good home

It is a shorten 38-55 case.

Love my Marlin 375. Took it to Tioga Co Pa. this Dec. Three shots, three deer.

not really a shortened 38-55. it is a modernized higher pressure cartridge of very similar size. the rim is the same, but the case body just in front of the rim is larger on the 38-55 by about .060, while the neck diameter is a little less than the 375.

I use that brass to make up 7-30 Waters cases. Lasts forever. Definitely heavier and thicker than 30-30, 38-55 brass.

It'll lay the smackdown on deer. My marlin model 375 is verry accurate also
