The parent case of the .204 Ruger is the .222 Magnum, necked-down. The case is 2mm longer than the .223 Rem. case. That same case necked-up becomes a 6X47 and has been around for almost as long as I have been.
The problem is: the .204 Ruger already has issues while used on the AR-15 platform because of it's often long COL. Necking it up to 6mm and using even longer 6mm bullets would prevent you from using it with the AR-15.
Keep in mind the 6X45 has a 2mm shorter case and you are limited in magazine length already.
