7mm Rem Mag v/s 7mm LRM

I have owned a 7mm Mag in one rifle or another for 30 years. I have been reading some on the 7mm LRM. One report says 3075 fps to 3100 fps shooting a 180 gr bullet for the LRM. The LRM is not a belted case and has a sharper shoulder. At the end of the day would it be any better caliber then the tried and proven 7mm Mag?

Depends on what you are using it for. I believe the 7LRM is a 375ruger case necked down to 7mm. If extreme long range is what you are looking for than I'd say go for it. But if it were me, I'd go with the standard 7mm mag. Brass is easier to find, powder would last a little longer, and it will do the majority of what most people would use it for. The long range guys on tv have been using the standard 7 mag on tv for a long time and they have made some amazing long range kills on big animals without the extra horsepower of the 7lrm. This is all coming from a guy who shoots a 338 edge and a 300 weatherby necked down to 7mm
