22-250/243, ? They are both way more than you need for coyotes out to 200 yards. I like my little 22 K-Hornet.

How dead is dead? Both of the guns mentioned are not really fur friendly. If you are just Killin, either one will do the job.

6 SLR would be the next greatest thing. That's one reason I just bought my first .243. Intended to keep my .204s and sell my .22-250 since, but... you know how that goes. wink

Cool article
What does your gun weigh
What could someone expect to have invested in something like that

EDP, if you have intrest in a 22-243, twist it fast and use 62- 75 gr bullets. If you are gonna shoot 55 and less, just use a 22-250.

Since you don't have a 243, get one !

As far as twist rate
I acquired a 243 in a rem VTR cool looking gun and I think it will be awesome on a axiom stock
It is a 1 / 9 twist that seams pretty fast to me

What are the benefits and pitfalls of a fast twist
I know stabilizing a heavy bullet but what else

I'm thinking I'll be shooting 55/58... Gr bullets not sure yet what Berger has to offer
Any input here would be appreciated

I don't save furs for the most part
That being said occasionally I shoot one that has a good coat I would like to save and a few bobcats too

9 twist in a 243 is standard and will get you 55-100s no problem, well most of the time. We all know each barrel has it's favorite bullets .

My old Rem really liked the 70gr NBT.

It weighs 13.5lbs with attached harris bipod, optic, YHM 5.56 Titanium suppressor, 7rnds on board, and sling.

Price of that kit as configured: $8,600

My pet load for my 22/250 over the years have been 33 GR. of IMR 3031 with either 50 OR 55 GR.JHP bullet or any of the Ballistic tip's that are out there now, & I also have used 38 Gr. of H 380 with any of the above bullets, for Ground Hogs & Coyotes with great success.
