58gr Z max / 6x45

The lightest bullet I tried was the 65gr Vmax. In fact, that is what I built the gun wanting to run. With that said, they didn't shoot worth a crap. With the results I got with the 75 grainers, both Vmax and HP's, I wouldn't go back. Understanding the ballistics are "similar" to a 55gr Vmax in .223, I just wanted something a bit heavier.

With 55-60gr bullets XTerminator or AA2230 which are the same powder should be excellent as far as velocities.

Savage 6x45 build, 24" McGowan bbl, 1/10" twist.
58 g V/Z max 26.1g Exterminator, 2.290" COL in my Savage build (OR 2.250" in an AR15) 3232 fps in my 24" bolt gun fps.
27g H335, 2.290" OR 2.250" COL 3151 fps, .600" on target.
27g varget, 2.280", .500" on target.
24g varget, 2.280, .600" on target.

***55g nosler CT & 55g Nosler BT, 26.1g exterm.... .400" on target***
My main coyote load is with the 65g vmax, 26.2g ramshot exterm, though due to better BC and wind fighter to 700 yards. This is at 3153 fps and runs from .340" to .700" @ 100 yds depending on the wind & me at the range.

I shoot the 58 grain vmaxes out of my DTI AR. I shot six coyotes with it last year and had good results. I am shooting them at 3529 fps.

3529 FPS in a 6x45? Eff me. if you don't mind, what does that load consist of?

I am running 24.5gr of 8208 on the Vmaxes and 25.0gr of 8208 on the HP with velocities at 2715 fps and 2790 fps respectively. I also shoot 70gr SMK with 24.0gr of AA2015 at 2745 fps. All out of an 18" std contour BHW bbl. I tried H335, Varget, AA2015 and the 8208 and the 8208 was really consistent and just worked well with everything I put it under.

Ahhhh...now it is all coming together. I was very impressed for a moment.

Lol yeah I realized mine wasn't the 6x45 but I'm using the same bullet so I thought I would chime in. Sorry for getting off topic.
