How far can you...

We were talking the other day & came up with an interesting scenario. I'm curious to see what kind of answers show up here.

With your best field rifle, known range & favorable conditions (good visibility, light to no wind, prone on bi-pods, time on your side); how far do you feel you can hit a 6" circle with your coldbore shot (no sighters) with a 90%+ confidency (you'd be willing to put up a $100 bill on hitting it; if you were a gambling man

).

450 yards is my max with my Ruger 7mm Mag and 4-16x scope. The gun is capable of 6" out to around 750 yards, but I haven't practiced enough to be efficient off of a bipod that far.

I am very confident with my Savage 204 out to 400.

Not a gambling man, so I'd be pretty conservative. 500-600 is a pretty comfortable max range for me, the wife and I shoot there more often than we do 100yrds. Then again, it might be cheating that our "field guns" are 13-17lbs.

500 yds. 300 Win mag Remington Sendero
180 gr. Sierra BTSP GK

Probably doable much farther but scope and shooter would be the limiting factors here.
