It depends more on how many times you have reloaded your cases and what cartridge you are reloading, sometimes you need to trim them sometimes you don't, some cases stretch more than others-- my WSSM cases some times go three reloads without trimming! As the cases get closer to the end of their useful life they don't stretch much either.
