I have tried Varget in my 700 with Hornady 75 gr h.p.s and Nosler 70gr b.t..I can not get it to group with either one.I have tried playing with the c.o.a.l.
I have a lot of H4895 and the manuals all show load data for it.Reloading supplies are hard to come by right now and do not want to waste bullets if this does not work well with the 243.
The only other powder I have is H4350 but do not see any load data on it until you get into the heavier bullets. My son's Savage likes it with 87gr vmax bullets.
Thanks for sny info.

It's all I use in my .243. 65 gr vmax and 100 gr sp. I don't load them hot but I get well under 1".

I used the 70gr BlitzKing and 41.0grs H4895 from my .243. Velocity was a shade over 3400fps and it was very accurate. My rifle never showed any pressure signs and I got good brass life. My OAL was 2.650"

Yeah I'd try either one, both good. I use H4350, work up to 46 grains with a 75 gr bullet. Been wanting to try H4895 with the lighter bullets too, usually that powder ends up being very accurate for me.

I've had good luck with 75grn vmax and H4895. I'm not a super experienced reloader, but that is my "go to" powder in several calibers.

Varget, I 4064 and H4895 are three of the best powders for a .243. you may get more velocity with H-4350; i only use that when i am shooting 95 partitions. 37.5 of I 4064 and a 85 sierra bthp has shot well in 6 700s i have tried them in. about the 37.5 or 38 of varget too. 87 hornady, 87 berger and 88 berger also. with 70 balistic tip i use i think 39.0-41.0 of varget.

H4895 is a great powder in the 243 with the bullet weights you listed.

4895 is pretty versatile, I'm sure you can find a load that works pretty well.

Right now I'm stuck on IMR4350 for my 243 loads, and the downside is that I weigh each charge as this powder doesn't throw from a measure all that well.
No matter where you go, there you are.
