Cottaintail in snowshoe clothing

I'm tying to call coyotes in snowshoe hare country (Copper River Delta) with a cottaintail call from K&H. Could this be part of the reason for the lack of response I've been getting?
Also has anyone experminted w/ distressed waterfowl calls. Seem like that could be a natural killer in this part of the country.
Appreciate any advice I can get. Thanx.
 
I dont think it matters you are using a cottantail call. The hare call is more raspy, but nonetheless you are sounding like something in distress. This calling stuff is pretty hard here in Alaska. Try going at night. Thats been a producing time for me. Try some other tricks you can read about here in the forums. Try different locations. Its just a challenge, keep trying they will come!
