Got everything piled up and ready to start loading as soon as the brown truck drops off my package from Shilen in a few weeks. Got a 22", 12 twist, varmint contour bbl on the way and piles of .224 bullets and powders I've obvioulsy accumulated over the years reloading every other .224 known to mankind,...let me know what works for ya fellas!

God gave the shooting world IMR 4007 SSC for the .220 Swift.

.

36g BLC2, 50g bullet = 3600 fps, nice moderate speed, smacks varmints down. Used that since I got my Ruger 77V in 1976.

44.0 gr of H414, 55 v-max, 3950 (chronographed) out of my Ruger #1. It shoots cloverleaf groups when I can focus my old eyes. Killed many Coyotes with this load.

+1 what he said!

I have tried many different loads for the wonderful Swift over the years. Two of my favorites are IMR 4064 and RL-15 with the 50 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. 38 grains of either of these powders works very well for me.

Another sweet load is 35-36 grains of IMR 3031 with a Hornady 55 grain spire point. None of my .220 Swifts have failed to punch cloverleafs with this combo.

My Ruger 77V loves 39.5gr of 4064 under a Sierra 53gr match HP with a CCI BR2 primer. Makes crows look like they swallowed an M-80. Most woodchucks like they could get up and walk away, but they are all Jello inside.

as usual, not exactly calm winds. 100 yds. remington 700

This is the Gospel truth! It's not magic with the Swift but it is as close as I have found. Good for the 22-250 too!

That's what I'm hoping,..gonna start with 52gr-55gr-60gr with imr4007 and H380 and see which direction it leans towards.
