My favorite loads for my Rem 700 are as follows:

Win brass
win primer
56.0g of IMR 4350
87g Speer sp
bullet .040 off the lands
3650 fps
Work up to this load in your rifle

Win brass
win primer
100g Speer btsp
57g of R#19
bullet seated .040 off the lands
work up to this load in your rifle,

25/06's are notorious for liking max loads. I learned that if I bump the shoulder back with a Forester neck sizer on every firing, I could go 12 firings inbetween full length sizings

My rem would not group a ballistic tip bullet of any weight like it would the speers...go figure. The 100g speer bTSP shoots 1 1/2" at 300 yards with a 6x24 scope on the rifle.

Nate,

I am with Alf, Either (ANY) 4350 near max and 87 or 90 gr bullet.

You don't need the heavy stuff for anything up to (but not including) elk.

However I have a friend whose 10 year old son killed a 400+ elk with a 243 and 90 gr ETIP bullet from Nosler.

You can't go wrong with any powder near the burning rate of 4350. It will work with all the bullets though I only used it with 87 gr to 100 gr.

When it came to the 75 gr bullets I used IMR4064 and Win 760. Those bullets were just to light and ran out of steam at 300 yards. Stay away from these, you'll be disappointed.

I tend to stay with the 87 gr bullets as I do a lot of varmint hunting. Do not use these for deer.

I try to stay with the RL powders because they're double based and offer more velocity. There is a price for the velocity though as it adds some temperature sensitivity.

53.3 of IMR-4350 with a Fed210 primer under a 90gr Sierra BlitzKing about .015" off the rifling (3.195" in my buddy's gun). This makes one of the most audible sounds of impact I have ever heard on ground-hogs and shoots easily 1/2" @ 100.

Venatic shot this group with my Rem 700 cdl yesterday as he was working up a load

He worked up 12 rounds to get it on paper, and these were the last 4. Using IMR 4350 and 100 grain Speer BTSP
