Constipation

My dog..........not me. I've got an older pensioner dog (McnabX) that seems a little stopped up. She still goes, but spends a lot of time in the trying. She's on the same dog food I've fed her for years. Any suggestions?

I had an older Plott female that went through bouts of constipation, it turned out to be a cyst on her spleen that grew to about 10 lbs, mind you she weighed in at 43 lbs with the cyst! The cyst had pinched off her intestine. Now I hope I haven't scared you but I do hope that you don't let it go as long as I did. My dog had a kind of a bloated look to her, I wasn't paying attention to bowel movements at this point, and so I thought maybe she was wormy, so I de-wormed her. It went on for a couple months. I truly hope your dog has nothing serious, but tell you my experience so you don't ignore it too long.

Give her something to get her moving and keep a close eye on her.

What can I give her to "get her moving?"

go to drug store get miralax put in his water has not taste or smell. bout 3/4 cap full to cup of water. treat him til he starts moving

I would be sure she doesn't have a blockage of some sort. Sometimes it masks itself as constipation.
