Baiting a young mountain lion ?

Got calls & warnings from 2 different neighbors over the weekend.
Seems we have a young mountain lion in the area. Both spotted it
within 50 yards of their houses.

I'd really like to get some pictures of it and want to put out my
game cameras.

Any idea on what kind of bait might bring it close to the cameras ?

I'm guessing it's a young male that got pushed out to find it's
own territory. Everyone is hoping it keeps on going out of the
area. Had a young male a few years ago that caused all sorts of
problems.

Road killed deer. Set the FoxPro to goat distress maybe fawn distress. Come back in 12 hrs. and change the batteries.
Just a thought.

Road kill might be an option if I can find some.
If not, I was thinking squirrel.

No goats around the 2 places that spotted it.
Both are cattle ranches.

idk bout baiting them but i cant wait to see pictures of it when ya shoot it

Big time no no to shoot them here in Missouri unless they're a
threat and you have the state boys ok. Had their ok a few years
ago but didn't do it.

There's a few around but not enough to usually be concerned about.

I just want some pictures of it.

Funny you should mention that.
I've had good luck baiting coyotes and wild dogs with canned
cat and canned dog food. Just needs to age in the sun for a
couple days to ripen up to get the scent just right.

I dont know what will work best for bait but when your done getting your pictures send him up my way for another photo shoot. There has been a few sightings around here but I have yet to see one.

Nah, that little turd is finally earning his keep.
Turns out he's rough on mice and rats and has the patience to lay and wait
for them to come out of hiding.
1 of these days 1 of those big rats is going to kick his butt.
