Scope power?

I think the scope makes the differance. For instance, a 3-9 Buckmaster is way more clear then a Barska 6-18. Therefore, I will be better to use a 3-9 over an 6-18 based on clarity.

With that said, what is you're intended purpose of each rifle? That also plays greatly into what scope recommendations will be. Also, price range is important.

I am looking at a Burris 4.5-14 or a Vortex Viper HS 4-16 for the 204. I want to shoot at the range out to 300 with it. The 6.5 has a Vortex 6.5-24 Crossfire right now but I want to upgrade. I was looking at 6.5-20 Viper. I want to shoot out to 500 with the 6.5 Grendel at the range.

Just make sure you put your excellent choices of American Made optics on top of an American Made rifle.

500 is easily done wit a 3-9x. The Burris 4.5-14 is a bit heavy, but good glass. I have a Viper 6.5-20x44PA and like it well enough. That's my long range deer/elk get-er.

For your rifles, I'd say a 3.5-10 or 4-12x Vortex Viper on the 204 and the Viper HS 4-16 you mentioned for the Grendel. The HS is a little better glass, but the regular PA viper is good.

Based on your intended use, I'd say 6-20 is too much mag. Get the 4-16. I've got the 4-16 PST on my .308 and can easily see 16x16 steel out to 1K

Don't recall ever saying anything about a scope being 100% made in America. Why do folks try to shove their own words down someone else's throat?

Anyways, this is a list of optics I'd look at 1st(in no certain order):

Leupold
Trijicon
Burris
Vortex
Nightforce
Redfield
Bushnell

Sorry if you were offended by my Buy American statement ... seems everyone is these days!

0-200yds 3x9
0-400yds 4.5x14
over 400yds 6.5x20 or more / a 30mm tube will help.
Fixed power scopes are nice too. 24x & 36x are nice for small targets

If you can look thru the scope in the daylight. Find one you like.
