Any of you guys hunt groundhogs in Iowa?

Since the coyote hunting has been so abysmal this year here I need to find something else for my .223 to munch on and thought I'd see if there is anyone hunting groundhogs in these parts. I've never even looked for them, are they as abundant here as they seem to be in many other states? Who knows, if there is a lot of them out there it might be a good exuse to buy another rifle? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif A T/C Encore in .243 (so I could reach out and touch them) would be cool. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
 
Grizz, there are groundhogs around here, but you will have to wait until Spring because they hibernate. Iowa and Illinois also have seasons on groundhogs.
 
Ya, I know they hybernate, just trying to find out if there are lots of them or not. The DNR website says the season does not start on them till June 15. I wonder why so late?
