Africa hot in Arkansas

Sucks, don't it.
You have grass ?
We're pretty much down to bare dirt here.

Been overcast all morning and that's kept our temps down a bit.
Hopefully some of the storms in our area will bring you some
rain. Sure not dropping any rain at our place.

Nothing here yet. The rain is running NW to SE and staying a little East of us.

Like you, the cloud cover is helping the temps today.

We're 50 miles NNE of Little Rock which was 103 at noon, compared to 94 for us. Until now we've been 1 to 2 degrees hotter than Little Rock 9 out of every 10 days.

We're praying for you guys too.

Shayne

Dang Shayne, where do you live ?
Probably close enough to us to be neighbors.

We've only hit 84 so far today. Much better then 106 yesterday.
But still no rain at our place.

Just got in from work ... Only 98 today but [beeep] it was HOT!!!

Did a tap on a main & ran new fire/domestic water services into a building, thought I was going to pass out in the ditch. Still dry as a popcorn fart here! Even after a nice 7/10ths of an inch rain this past Sunday.

I really hate to hear it's still hot and most of all so dry. When it's that dry in places that are not meant to be so dry every creature suffers.I hope you guys get rain soon. And while I am wishing I hope you get slow rain over a few days.

WOW, woke up at 4:00am to thunder and rain. Not sure how much yet, but radar shows it freight training across us for a while to come.

I only hope the rest of you get some relief soon too.

RJM we're not real close, I'm in Griffithville, which is near Searcy. Searcy the town, not Searcy County.

Now you're just being mean.

We were in a severe t-storm warning yesterday afternoon.
Got lots of thunder, lightning, wind and NO rain.

From 2am until 5am we got lots more thunder, lightning, wind and NO rain. Again.

It went east of us, it went west of us and then joined up
south of us and that was your storms.

It sucks being me.

RJM what have you done to the rain gods?Have you tried washing your car, cook out,go camping, got any hay you could mow?Must be something we could think of to make it rain.

No clue as to what I did to the rain gods.
Maybe it was my naked rain dance.

Maybe they want me to sacrifice a virgin to them ?
I would but those are tough to find around here.

Yeah, you would get in trouble for killing an 8 year old.

We ended up getting 3/8 of an inch.
I took the wife about 50 miles north for some shots in the spine, and going and coming it flat RAINED.

Didn't say anything about killing, just sacrificing and 8 years
old would be way to young. I was thinking somewheres around 18
or so to stay out of trouble.

You're being mean again.

It clouded up here for awhile but no rain.
Maybe tonight ?

Maybe if you would go to bed with the windows down on your car, just to be sure make it the drivers seat.If that don't work I don't know what will.

Dang it, another small storm went right over.
Lightning and thunder and that was it.

Funny, I did leave the truck windows open tonight.
That probably means the cat will take it's dinner in and eat
on the drivers seat.

It will rain tomorrow since we're going to be hauling hay.

RJM, are you getting any rain today?
Looking at the radar on the Weather Channel, it looked to me like it ought to be close to you, if not on you.

We're still praying for ya.
Shayne

Nope, no rain. Suns out.
The storms are all south and east of us. Again.

Try weather.com. Our zipcode is 65655

Went about 30 miles SW of us to pick up some hay earlier.
It was raining there and they said they've been getting some
rain twice a day for the past week. Looked like it to as
everything was green there.

Darn, we got another 1/4" this morning.
I was really hoping you got some.
I'll look up your zip, and get an idea of where you're at.

RJM,it could be worse. You could be a rain gauge salesman.Sounds like a fellow could buy used rain gauges cheap out there. They said on TV today that 90% of your state was in drought conditions. That is terrible.Storming here now.Hope you get rain.
