11 inch or 14.5 inch upper?

RHave any of you guys had experience with these on a ar pistol? If i later got the tax stamp to put it a rifle lower which would be better on accuracy and speed

I have 11.5 and 14.5's with pinned muzzle devices on rifles with no problems at all, although the 11.5 can put out a mighty nice fireball at times.
My 7.5 on my pistol however, was rather finicky until I drilled the gas port a bit bigger.

I run a 11 1/2"! it shoots pretty good and i have never had any fireballs coming out of mine

I have a 11.5 upper for my SBR and love it. There is a pic of it with a YHM suppressor attached.

If you are going short, go short. 14.5 is almost 16. I would recommend 1:7 rifling.

why the 1:7 twist in the short barrel?

Should use 1 in 7 for all subsonic rounds.

The 223 in a short barrel needs a heavier bullet to carry enough energy (warfare stuff) which needs a faster twist.

Those short barrels really bark, a suppressor is nice.
