Becoming more and more common around the country. Are they trying to get the sheeple used to an occupation this fall?

Military Rolls Tanks Onto St. Louis Streets...But Why?

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/23/2012 14:16 -0400

I have to say that this event, which is being labeled a "training exercise", makes very little sense to me. U.S. Army troops all the way from Maryland running open exercises in armored personnel carriers on the busy streets of St. Louis? I know Maryland is a small state, but is there really not enough room at Ft. Detrick to accommodate a tank column and some troops? Are there not entire fake neighborhood and town complexes built with taxpayer dollars on military bases across the country meant to facilitate a realistic urban environment for troops to train in? And why travel hundreds of miles to Missouri? At the very least, this is a massive waste of funds.

On the other hand, such an action on the part of the Department of Defense makes perfect sense if the goal is to acclimate citizens to the idea of seeing tanks and armed military acting in a policing capacity. Just check out the two random idiots the local news affiliate picked to interview in St. Louis on the subject. Both state that they think the exercise is a "great idea", because having the military on the streets would help to "reduce crime":

I suspect that the news affiliate did not go out of its way to get any counter-opinions, even though they admitted to being contacted by those voicing concerns over martial law.

Even so, it's sad and simultaneously terrifying that there are plenty of mindless dupes out there who do not understand the dangers of the Army crossing the Rubicon and acting in a civil law enforcement capacity, never mind that they are completely ignorant of the fact that it violates the Posse Comitatus Act. One of the interviewees even points out that in some countries they don't use police at all; only military. This is true. We call those countries "tyrannies"...

Add to the mix the reality that the DOD refuses to respond to any further inquiries by the press concerning details of the training, and you get yet another suspicious instance of behavior on the part of the establishment that seems preparatory for domestic action. I believe that the high frequency at which these activity reports have been coming in over the past year is certainly cause for alarm...

What's crazy is that some people are so accustomed to downplaying these things in the news, that seem to clear thinkers as threatening our liberties. Will it only be when they and their neighbors get carted away in cattle trucks (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread836222/pg1) they will too late discover the conspiracy theories weren't theories at all?

Making criminals of people who hold true to time tested and Biblical standards may be what some liberals seem to want now. But too late they may find that we have become a nation of criminals, instead of enlightened intellectuals.

People start life with pretty clear ideas of right and wrong behavior. Some call it a conscience, and rightly so. But I believe that the God who made the universe gave us that conscience. Paul the Apostle spoke of a time where people had their conscience seared as with a hot iron, and I'm afraid we're there.

Just because someone invents new words to fit their ideas, doesn't mean they apply to me. I'm not heterosexist, and I never will be. I believe that marriage is and always was supposed to be between a man and a woman. I'm not heterosexist. I'm normal. And I also believe that it is all of our responsibility to preserve our liberties by remaining watchful, then connecting the dots. To do anything else isn't being intellectual or freedom loving. It's just plain dumb.

Detroit needs armored tanks if one is to travel there, although I'm sure they'd find a way to get one to the scrapyard for crack money.

I've been amazed for the last couple of years about the rumored preparations for "Mass Civil Disobedience" and the reasons for deploying U S Troops into American cities for "Training Exercises"...The announcement that Military Units would be deployed in St Louis was no surprise...

We (Military and Hollywood) build elaborate towns and cities for the purpose of training our troops for doing battle in other countries that are so realistic that the troops feel right "at home" when deployed...And, if that is the case, why the need to place them on the actual busy streets of any metropolitan area in America...

On the other side of the coin...If you are wanting to contain a specific area, for instance St Louis, by commandeering the bridges across the Mississippi River and shutting down the Interstate routes leading to the West, securing a specific area would not be really that hard with the way the St Louis traffic patterns have been established...

Sure, there are side streets, but how many people or vehicles can you fit through them at any given time??? There would be such significant gridlock that picking off selected subjects would be little problem..Those caught in the gridlock would be easy prey for the trouble makers...

Since my last post (6/26) on this subject, I've been pondering the only other potential scenario that would justify American Troops to be deployed in American cities...aside from anticipated civil disobedience....

Just a big "What If"...Suppose our intelligence sources indicated that a bacterial based virus was due to be unleashed somewhere within our borders in the very near future??...Publicity of such indication would be counter productive and create and undue amount of panic, as well as alerting those under investigation for the potential commission of the act...

For the sake of public safety and the need to rapidly and severely, restrict travel to reduce the spread of the virus until an antidote could be found and developed, that is the one reason that would justify sending troops into major metropolitan areas for the purpose of civilian control and it would be legal, as far as I know...It would be the one situation that it would be almost impossible to control with local resources...
