ok guys. as you slide the bolt forward the bolt slide plate catches the small step in the carrier dogand therefore pushes the dog downward for the front of the carrieer upward thus lifting the shell. its about as clear as mud until you actually figure it out for yourself. most of the time you can retouch and square that smallnotch in the carrier dog and the problem will be fixed.hope i didnt confuse you further.
