Wanting a 6.8

Any suggestions for a complete 6.8 upper? I like the Kies that JoeBob has and I can get 1 from Bison Armory that I like. Anyone else that I should be looking at? Thanks

I'm very happy with the Wilson Combat SPC II Lightweight Hunter Barrel on my wifes 6.8.

Cannot speak of the others since I've never used them, but Joebob is top notch.

6.8 Forums is great place to start if you want to know about the 6.8.

I love mine...

Looks a little different now, I need to take some new pictures...

I have a RRA 6.8 that I absolutely love. It has the 16" barrel and I believe the 1 in 10 twist. Looking at 6.8 spc can be confusing because of spec I and spec II chambers and 5R rifling and twist rates. Some people may say to shy away from RRA because it has a slower twist and you may be able to milk a few fps out of other uppers.

I am getting 2600 fps with a 110 hornady hpbt and that is great velocity to me out of a 16" barrel. I also am getting right at .5 MOA. All of my RRA have been great shooters and 100% reliable with no jams or pickiness on magazines or bullets. That to me is much more important than a few extra fps. They are also very affordable.

YMMV

Im thinking of building one also.I just picked up a 700 remmy in 6.8 and I love this round.I mainly punch papper & shoot my buddies steel gongs.I was getting bored with 223 & wanted a little more umph at 4&500 yds.Fun round to shoot and so far easy to load for.Biggest problem I'm having is finding a non threaded barrel.
That Wilson combat 16" lightweight hunter looks sweet.Torn between that and a YHM 16" fluted non crome lined.

I have the RRA coyote carbine upper in 6.8 with a 10 twist. It loves 90 TNT's and 110 prohunters. Took a Big sow javelina at about 150 yds and gutted her with the prohunter.

Awesome rig and sweet javelina!

I have a White Oak Armament 6.8 upper with a Shilen Match SS 18" barrel 1-11" twist, 4 groove. Close to $700 with a PRI magazine.

I get .750 groups with the Hornady 110gr BTHP and 29.0grs H322 and CCI 400 primers in SSA brass 2658fps at OAL 2.295"

Mt best targets are with the Hornady 120gr SST and 26.6grs H322, OAL 2.295" at 2399fps; .341 I can push them to 2533fps with 28.1grs H322 and CCI #41 primers but they spread out to almost an inch.

Working with a Berger 140gr (B.C. 487)and AA2200 and H322.
